Put August 26th in your diary. This is the date of the FOLK TRAIN. It is run by our friends from Reddish South and will travel between Denton Station and Stalybridge with live folk musicians on-board. We intend to take the train and have breakfast at Stalybridge Station. We hope you will join us- be on Denton Station at the latest 9 25am this Friday and I hope to see you there.
At a very poorly attended AGM meeting our station manager Theo Mclaughan made the draw for our raffle. First Prize Mrs J Harrison 16 Southern Close Haughton Green. Second Prize a bottle of Whisky Mr A Whittle a school teacher from St Marys primary school Denton. Third Prize a bottle of wine Mr P Elliot 15 Rydal Close Denton.

As stated in the Newsletter the inaugral AGM of the friends of Denton Station will be held on 11th August at Victoria Park Community Centre there is a slight aleration The AGM is at 7 00pm not 7 30pm then the regular meeting follows immediately after

On Friday the Scarborough started its trips from Crewe to Scarboroughand as usual they watered up at Denton and surprise surprise the locomotive was the Battle of Britain Class Tangmere
The raffle which at the time of writing seems to be a succsess but because our member school St Marys Primary has just had their summer fair and has had two of their own raffles on the go they have not sold any friends tickets so the committee have extended our raffle to the end of this month and the draw will take place the first week in August Alan Jones Chairman

On Saterday waaaas in Sainsburys foyer to tell the population of Denton about our group it was a fantastic sucsess we had 387 signatures on our petition we signed up 54 new members and took £257 WELL DONE EVERYBODY WHO WAS THERE Alan
